Keegan & Novick, PC, a criminal defense firm located in Boston, recently went through specialized training from the National College for DUI Defense, Inc. (NCDD). This corporation is nationally recognized and accredited by the American Bar Association. Its goal is to improve the quality of the criminal bar by making attorneys across the national more knowledgeable about their areas of practice. Although Keegan & Novick practice all avenues of criminal defense, they also place an emphasis and have dedicated a large portion of their practice to defending those charged with drunk driving in particular.
Attorney Joseph Keegan of the firm has more than 8 years of trial experience and prior to that was employed for 11 years as a law enforcement official. Attorney Stephen Novick has dedicated 100 percent of his focus to criminal defense. Together, Keegan & Novick wanted to add even more knowledge to their experience for the betterment of their clients. The most common crime that American citizens are accused of today is operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol. With such a large number of the accused that need this particular kind of defense, the firm sprang into action.
Members of the NCDD are considered to be among the most highly-qualified and experienced DWI defense attorneys in the country. The college exists to further train these legal professionals and inform them of the law, tactics for defense, and litigating pre-trial issues. For nearly ten years now, the American Bar Association has recognized DUI as a specialized area of the law. With this recognition came a felt need for better training and specialization of attorneys in this field. Keegan & Novick, PC answered the call by their willingness to attend these intensive training sessions in order to become members of the college.
To sustain membership, lawyers must renew their membership yearly. This guarantees that all members of the college stay current and up-to-date on their states DUI laws. Membership also requires at least half of the firms focus to be on defending those charged with DUIs/OUIs. Members are consistently held accountable to adhere to the high standards of the firm. Of course, this is all for the benefit of the client. Keegan & Novick, PC is proud to do whatever it takes to provide their clients accused of crimes with the best possible representation out there. Becoming members of the National College for DUI Defense was part of that.
